About Computer-Aided Drawing and Modeling

This program offers a sequence of courses that provides coherent and rigorous content aligned with challenging academic standards and relevant technical knowledge and skills needed to prepare for further education and careers in the Architecture and Construction career cluster; provides technical skill proficiency, and includes competency-based applied learning that contributes to the academic knowledge, higher-order reasoning and problem-solving skills, work attitudes, general employability skills, technical skills, and occupation-specific skills.

The mission of this program is to prepare students with professional, career‑ready skills in CAD, BIM, and 3D modeling for employment in the architectural, engineering, construction (AEC), and manufacturing fields.

Industry Certification/Licensure

Near the completion of applicable courses or mutually agreed between student and instructor, students will take one of the following industry certification exams:

  • Autodesk AutoCAD Certified User
  • Autodesk Fusion Certified User
  • Autodesk Revit Architecture Certified User

Articulation

Upon successful completion of this program, students enrolling in an A.S. degree program are eligible to be awarded articulated credits at:

Valencia College:

  • Computer Aided Drafting & Design degree – Up to 21 credits
  • Construction & Civil Engineering Technology degree – Up to 12 credits
